China activates geological disaster response for four provinces after emergency-weather alerts

China’s Ministry of Emergency Management activated a **Level-IV national geological disaster emergency response** for **Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou** after forecasts warned of heavy downpours across parts of southern and central China.[1][3] The ministry and the Ministry of Natural Resources said the highest geological-disaster risks are in southern and western Anhui, southwestern and eastern Hubei, western Hunan, and southern Guizhou, and urged local authorities to closely monitor rainfall, flooding, and slope hazards.[1][3]
