Somalia Prepares to Assume National Human Rights Monitoring Role

At a UN Human Rights Council dialogue, Somalia’s human rights minister said the government was ready to strengthen national institutions and assume greater responsibility for monitoring and protecting human rights after the UN Independent Expert mandate ended.
